Dreams, read closely.
Effective May 31, 2026
Mnemo is designed to be private by default. Your dreams are not a product. This page describes what we collect, what we don't, and what happens to dream content when you use the AI interpretation feature.
The short version. Dream entries live on your device. No accounts. No logins. No analytics SDKs. No advertising. The only personal-looking data that leaves your device is the text of a dream you choose to interpret, and a randomly-generated device ID for rate limiting — neither is linked to your identity.
Dream narratives you write or dictate are stored locally on your device using iOS's AsyncStorage. They never leave your device unless you explicitly request an interpretation.
When you tap Interpret, the text of that single dream is sent to our backend (a Cloudflare Worker we operate), which proxies the request to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the interpretation. The interpretation is returned to your device. We do not retain dream content on our servers in any identifiable form. We do not log dream text. We do not train AI models on your dreams.
Voice transcription, where available, runs entirely on your device using Apple's Speech framework. Audio recordings never leave your device.
Mnemo generates a random UUID on first launch and stores it in your device's keychain (via expo-secure-store). This identifier is sent in an X-Device-Id header with each interpretation request, solely so we can enforce per-device daily rate limits (currently 30 interpretations per day, well above legitimate use). The identifier is not joined to other data, not used for tracking, not used for advertising, and not retrievable by other apps.
If you subscribe to Mnemo Premium, Apple's StoreKit reports the purchase to RevenueCat (our subscription-management provider). RevenueCat tracks entitlement status keyed to an anonymized identifier — we never see your Apple ID directly. This data is used only to gate premium features in the app.
If you have opted in to share analytics with developers in your iOS Settings, Apple automatically sends crash reports to us via TestFlight or App Store Connect when Mnemo crashes. These reports are generated by Apple, not by us. We use them only to diagnose and fix bugs.
The minimal data we collect is used solely to provide the app's functionality:
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share data with advertising partners. We do not use dream content to train AI models.
Mnemo relies on a small set of well-known service providers:
Dream entries are retained on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall Mnemo. Uninstalling Mnemo permanently deletes all on-device data, including dream entries and the device identifier.
Interpretation requests are not retained on our backend beyond the duration of the request. Daily rate-limit counters expire 30 hours after creation.
Mnemo is rated 4+ but is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Dream content can be intense for younger users, and Mnemo's content guardrails are tuned for adult users.
